My skin was smooth and GLOWED loke nothing else.įor my mother? Not worth it. It was worth it for me and I am by no means rich. But I gave it a shot, spent the dough, and it was by far the best thing in terms of Vit C. But if you have the spare cash and are curious to give it a shot, don't discount it just because it doesn't work for someįor me, initially didn't think it was worth it. I can tell you you that you definitely DO NOT need drop the money on a Skinceuticals product to have skin you are happy with. Dont discount products just because it doesn't work for some Seems like a lot of people even like it better than products with a higher % vit c (like effects-wise, not just bc the their skin can't tolerate the higher %).ĭespite what u/onoitscate seems to think:Įveryone's skin is different. I wonder how important that is though, since to me it seems like even with such a low %, the Melano works quite well as witnessed by how popular it is. I'm thinking of upgrading to a stronger one after this though, since I read that the % in Melano is only like 3-5%. Recently started using it all over the face, although since I put it on damp skin I really only need 2-3 drops. That makes me a bit unsure/scared about trying it, ngl, even though I'm not super sure how harmful that ingredient is.Ĭurrently I actually am using Melano CC! Used it before years ago, but only as a spot treatment and it was amazing. They're no longer distributed there officially as of now bc of it (it's been "out of stock" on their official EU website for months), but since it doesn't affect the US market it seems a lot of ppl aren't aware or concerned about it. Not the same user but re: Timeless, I did read about some concerns regarding the ethoxydiglycol (sorry if the spelling is wrong) concentration being way higher than what's permitted in the EU. Who knows if it's really happening? That's why I like to use basic, original L ascorbic acid and just mix it right before using it. However, in order to work, your skin needs to convert these stable alternative to L ascorbic acid. These can be mixed with peptides and don't break down as easily. They react with each other chemically and cancel out.Ī lot of Vitamin C serums/products for that reason use stabilized alternatives to L Ascorbic Acid. I have read that peptides can oxidize the Vitamin C. However, it needs a very acidic PH to work and it's also very unstable-it get oxidized easily in light and air. L Ascorbic Acid (like the Ordinary powder) is the best form of Vitamin C and what all the studies showing vitamin c skin benefits use. Retinol makes your skin more sensitive to sun, so you don't want to use it in day. Vitamin C is good for day time because it's an antioxidant (mops up free radicals) and actually helps up your skin's natural sun protection. I think the usual advice is vitamin C in the morning and retinol at night as you say. If you have any suggestions or things to add, please message the mods!
